Getting Started

Who can create a campaign on TryCeed?

+

Any Nigerian student who has been admitted to or is currently enrolled in a recognized tertiary institution (university, polytechnic, or college) can create a campaign. You must be able to provide valid documentation to verify your student status.

Is there a cost to create a campaign?

+

Creating a campaign is completely free! There are no upfront costs. TryCeed only charges a 5% platform fee on successful donations to maintain the platform and cover operational costs.

What documents do I need to verify my campaign?

+

To verify your campaign, you'll need:

  • Valid admission letter or current student ID card
  • Government-issued ID (National ID, Voter's Card, Driver's License, or International Passport)
  • Recent academic transcript or result (if available)
  • Proof of tuition fees or school expenses
  • Bank account details for receiving funds

How long does verification take?

+

Our verification team typically reviews submissions within 24-48 hours. You'll receive an email notification once your campaign is approved or if we need additional information.

Creating Your Campaign

How should I set my funding goal?

+

Set a realistic goal based on your actual educational expenses. Include tuition fees, accommodation, books, and other essential academic costs. Be specific and provide documentation. Campaigns with clear, justified goals tend to attract more donors.

What makes a good campaign story?

+

A compelling campaign includes:

  • Your personal background and educational journey
  • Why you're passionate about your field of study
  • Specific challenges you're facing
  • How the funding will help you succeed
  • Your career aspirations and how you plan to give back
  • Clear breakdown of how funds will be used

Be authentic, honest, and personal. Donors connect with real stories.

Can I edit my campaign after it's published?

+

Yes, you can update your campaign story, add photos, and post updates. However, you cannot change your funding goal once donors have started contributing. Contact support if you need to make significant changes.

Receiving Funds

How do I receive my donations?

+

Donations are transferred directly to your verified bank account. You can request a withdrawal once you've raised funds. We process withdrawals 30 minutes.

What if I don't reach my funding goal?

+

TryCeed operates on flexible funding - you keep whatever amount you raise, even if you don't reach your full goal. Every contribution helps, and you're not required to reach 100% before withdrawing funds.

Are there any fees deducted from my donations?

+

Yes, TryCeed deducts:

  • 5% platform fee to maintain operations
  • Payment processing fees (approximately 1.5% + ₦100 per transaction, charged by Paystack)

These fees help us keep the platform running and ensure all students are properly verified.

How long can my campaign run?

+

Campaigns typically run for one academic year, but you can close your campaign early once you've raised enough funds. If you need to extend your campaign, contact our support team.

Promoting Your Campaign

How do I get more people to see my campaign?

+

Promotion is key! Here are some tips:

  • Share your campaign link on all social media platforms
  • Send personalized messages to family and friends
  • Post regular updates to keep donors engaged
  • Join relevant WhatsApp and Facebook groups
  • Reach out to alumni networks and community organizations
  • Create compelling visual content (photos, videos)
  • Share your story on student forums and platforms

Should I post updates during my campaign?

+

Absolutely! Regular updates keep donors engaged and show them the impact of their support. Share your academic progress, exam results, class experiences, and how the funds are helping you. Campaigns with regular updates receive 3x more donations on average.

Responsibilities & Guidelines

What are my responsibilities as a campaign creator?

+

As a student on TryCeed, you're expected to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information
  • Use funds solely for educational purposes
  • Post regular updates on your progress
  • Respond to donor messages (if applicable)
  • Maintain your academic performance
  • Show gratitude to your supporters

What happens if I drop out of school?

+

You must notify TryCeed immediately if you discontinue your studies. Depending on circumstances and unused funds, we may work with you on next steps. Honesty and transparency are crucial to maintaining trust in our community.

Can I run multiple campaigns?

+

Students can only have one active campaign at a time. However, you can create a new campaign for subsequent academic years if needed. Each campaign must be separately verified.
